People are friendly and helpful, and there's a mixture of nationalities (I met Brits, Irish, an Israeli, an Alaskan, a New Zealander and an Australian). The capital city—the whole country for that matter—is small enough to be easily navigable. The old town and river in Ljubljana are small-scale Venice. An architect named Plecnik designed the bridges, marketplace, gradated walkway along the river and many other constructions in the city.
