Along Paris streets...
Summer, 2014
Jouseph, aka pigeon man, is a favorite fixture at the Pompidou Center. He regularly brings croissants (bread crumbs are not good enough) and water for his wards. My neighborhood organization calls him a menace to public health and has made all kinds of efforts to keep him away. He just keeps getting arrested, fined and returns to the car where he lives on a nearby street. Of course, he can't pay. He can single out a sick or disabled bird among hundreds. He picks it up, determines what is wrong and may take it to the Paris Pigeon Protection society, or whatever it is called. Scroll down. He's still there in 2018 – albeit, more bent. His body is at a 90-degree angle with his legs now. The pigeons don't seem to mind.
