Our how-now-brown-dhow with an orange awning equipped with snorkeling masks and flippers got us to and from Prison Island without mishap. Water is clear and warm with gentle waves...my first time in the Indian Ocean! The coral reef wasnÍt particularly colorful, but a never-ending variety of shapes on the ocean floor still causes one to marvel. Blue, yellow and black-striped fish along with starfish with red lines stood out. After almost running into a jellyfish, I started looking ahead more conscienciously—and down for sea urchins before setting down foot.
