Bishnu Palchaudhuri, the director, has convinced the tribal members that the school is a good thing. He has also arranged for doctors from Kolkata to volunteer to give periodic health examinations. Medicine for the older generations would amount to $125-150 a year; for a child, $25.

A toilet for the school would cost $250. Toilets for the village are also needed. Now, people go in the fields at the risk of picking up hookworms in their feet.

A water pump for the village would cost $300.

Smaller items such as blackboards, teaching puzzles, soccer balls are also welcome.
