| The evening's entertainment was resident artist Laurent Dailleau playing the theremin, a musical instrument that makes science fiction sounds (listen here). No physical contact is made between the instrument and artist. Modulation of tone and volume adjustment are made by hands moving near the antennae. The wooden box houses electronics that produce the sound. Self-composed recorded music on his computer rounded out the sound. |
