Not only did I penetrate China's Great Wall, I got around today's defensive mechanism - the great firewall China imposes on the internet. Downloading a web proxy before leaving got me into banned sites like FaceBook, YouTube and Twitter. New York Times articles would never load, although I continued receiving the daily listserv.
