Chateau
Gros Chesnay outside Le
Mans
July/2005 |

| Tyty (short for Guillemette), at 80-plus, is a gracious hostess. When she picked me up at the train station, we walked around the old part of LeMans and saw the cathedral, a really impressive one, and I've seen quite a few. The second day she drove me to Soulemses to hear the monks chant, and we went out to dinner. Gros Chesnay, in her family for three generations, is where she will continue to live as long as she wants, although it is sold to a chef who is using eight hectares of the land to grow organic produce for his restaurant in Paris. |
